We may not have it all together ... but together we have it all.

Happy Halloween!

As you can see Cole and I went as a pregnant nun and the devil (who impregnated me) for Halloween. We had tons of fun at Matt and Tina's Halloween party on Friday night! The costume was a hit and we got many laughs, even at the fabric store. :o)

Pregnancy Dreams

You always hear about the strange pregnancy dreams that people have. I haven't had too many, but I am going to blog about the few that I have had so that I can remember them, they do seem to be fading out of my memory fast! These were dreams that I had a while ago, and may be the peak of my weird dreams.

The first dream involved my co-worker Nancy. I needed to go to the eye doctor and couldn't get an appointment. Nancy had an appointment and let me take hers so that I could go. When I got to the eye doctor they claimed that I hadn't told them I was taking her appointment and determined that I was 'trying to steal Nancy's identity' by pretending to be her. They found this out while scanning my eye and consistent with what you watch in the sci-fi movies, my eye scan clearly did not match hers. I proceeded to tel them that I wasn't trying to be Nancy, I was just merely taking her appointment since she said I could. They then insisted that they had to give me a full body x-ray to confirm my identity. I tried to explain to them that I was pregnant and I couldn't have an x-ray. They accused me of trying to evade their identity verification process and said they had a way to scan me to tell if I really was pregnant. They held up a camera like device that took a picture of my stomach and then produced an image that not only told me the sex of my baby (a boy in the dream) but also showed exactly what my baby looked like. This was the extent of my dream. Once they realized that I was pregnant they agreed that I wasn't trying to pull one over on them related to my identity. Weird dream! Very sci-fi and I remember being devastated in the dream because they had told me the sex of my baby when I didn't want to know.

A note...I have had two boy dreams (well three if you count the dream below)  and two girl dreams. So, the jury is still out as to whether my subconscious thinks I'm having a boy or a girl.

Another day I had a dream that I was normal sized pregnant woman, but when I gave birth to my baby a fully grown Cole came out of me. It acted like a baby, but looked like Cole. It will be curious to see if baby Harper looks like Cole as it gets older!

The last dream was one that Cole had. :o)  He told me that he has had dreams where someone has been sneaking into our house in the middle of the night and sticking a bicycle like tire inflator into my belly button and slowly inflating my stomach to make it bigger and bigger by the day. I thought this was pretty cute!

A New Arts Experience

Cole and I have talked for many years about going to the opera and Sunday we finally did so. First we headed out to brunch with our friend Dasha at Murphy's and ate some really delish food, then it was time for the arts! 'The Pirates of Penzance' was playing at the Egyptian Theater and Cole and I have never been to an opera so we decided to go. Kind of weird, they only had a Friday night performance and then a Sunday matinee performance. Since the Friday night performance was right during the BSU football game, we opted for the Sunday matinee. It was not bad, although I did expect it to be in another language and it wasn't. The Opera reminded me a lot of a musical, just with some high note opera singing mixed into the shuffle.

The performance was a comedy about -you guessed it- a bunch of pirates! One pirate was due to be out of his pirate term and so decided he was going to find himself a new bride. Instead the pirate crew found a way to keep him under their servitude since he was born on a leap year and was said to need to serve 22 years of service with the pirates. Since he hadn't had 22 birthdays due to leap years, they said he was still a pirate. This poor guy had already fallen in love with another girl by this point and decided to figure out a way to make all of the pirates happy and so they all wound up with wives/girlfriends in the end and everyone lived happily ever after. It was a cute story.

Overall I would say it was nice for the experience and I would go again. However, if I had to choose between the opera and a ballet/dance performance, or the Shakespeare festival I would pick one of those two over the opera since the price is comparable. I found I enjoy dance and the Shakespeare festival more. We are planning on going again though in February to see La Boheme. Thiis Opera will  be in a different language so it will be interesting to see how I feel about that performance.
