We may not have it all together ... but together we have it all.

22 Weeks Pregnant

It's been six weeks since we have taken belly pics of me, so I thought it was time for some more. See below.

18 Week Ultrasound Pics

Well I am now 21 weeks pregnant but my mom pointed out to me the other night that I still hadn't posted my 18 week ultrasound pics on the blog. So....without further adieu there are a few of my favorites below. Baby was very still and practically sleeping most of the ultrasound, so it wasn't quite as eventful as our 12 week ultrasound where baby was moving and shaking for mom and dad.

I will share my theory so that way we can see if it might be true down the road. When we went to the ultrasound the tech told us that although she knew the sex of the baby, she wouldn't tell the doctor and that if the doctor said he or she it wouldn't mean anything. The doctor came in and the tech reminded her that we didn't want to know the sex of the baby. As she was scanning our little one she proceeded to say 'well we'll give to him.' Now I wouldn't have thought anything of this comment given what the tech had told us until the doctor continued. She then freaked out and said 'OR SHE, it could be a she. And anyways if I saw you on the street I wouldn't remember what you were having anyway to remember whether or not to call the baby a he or she.' Since she made such a big deal out of it I think there is a small possibility it could be because she saw we were having a boy and accidentally called baby a 'he' and then tried to correct herself. Not enough to go out and buy blue because on the other side of the coin she could have just had so many people freak out on her when she gives a gender designation that she felt the need to clarify. Time will tell if my theory is right.  :o)

Cole's 27th Birthday

Sunday was Cole's birthday. Although he didn't want to have a huge shin-dig this year, I think he still managed to have a good day. Sunday we woke up and went to Parilla for FOOTBALL! The Packers (Cole's favorite team) were playing the Panthers. Since we didn't get the game at home we decided to head to Parilla. Jake and Jessica came along and we ate breakfast and watched football. Parilla is one of THE places to hang for NFL football. They have tacos, burritos, and breakfast tacos in the morning - and don't forget the most important part - booze. Bloody Mary's to be exact.

The Hyde Park Street Fair is also the same weekend as Cole's birthday every year so after a while Jake headed out to work and Jessica and I headed to get some grocery shopping done while Cole met up with his friends Jason and Joe. They spent the afternoon bouncing back and forth between Parilla and the Street Fair. I meanwhile went home bought groceries and prepared for a 4 hour cooking marathon.

I decided to surprise Cole with a southern dinner. So I made the works, shrimp and grits, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and key lime pie for dessert. Cole isn't a huge cake fan and has been craving key lime pie for a while, so I took a shot at it. The meal was awesome. So amazing we could feel our arteries clogging as we ate the meal. There was nothing happy with a meal based on butter, bacon, cheese, and cream. But boy do those ingredients make for a GREAT meal! Jake and Jessica came over and enjoyed Cole's birthday dinner with us.

When Cole came home from the afternoon in Hyde Park I surprised him with a backpacking tent from Cabella's and two Star Wars DVDs that he had been wanting. He has been wanting to get into backpacking and is slowly building up his backpacking collection so the tent is a definite staple. Overall it was a busy, but  very good day.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor day weekend was BUSY!! We had a yard sale on Saturday so Friday evening was spent getting ready for the yard sale since we still had lots of last minute things to do. We hauled all the smaller items over to Cole's mom's for the sale. We have been trying to clear out the extra bedroom for the baby and it is a task! At least we were able to sell quite a few things instead of just having to donate it all.

Saturday morning we woke up early (well early by our standards - 8:30 am ; I know laugh because this will change when baby arrives) and went to Pastry Perfection to get some goodies for our time at the garage sale. We headed over to the yard sale and I sat and helped Kay for about three hours outside while Cole and Jim caught up inside. Bailey was the center of attention at the yard sale and loved all of the people who gave her treats whenever they saw her. We didn't have tons to put in the yard sale, but I was pleased because most of the bigger stuff sold with the exception of our entertainment center. We will put that on Craigslist.

After the yard sale we headed to the house to get ready for the first BSU game of the season. Whoop whoop! We are HUGE college football fans so as we cleaned the house we watched the football games on tv and prepared the house for the party we were hosting. We had lots of friends come out to watch the game and TONS of good food. The spread included hamburgers, hotdogs, cucumber tomato salad, summer squash bake, raspberry pie, spinach dip, artichoke dip, and of course tons of booze. Cole and Jake even made jello shots the night before that go into lemons, oranges and grapefruit so that we had festive blue and orange jello shots. Don't worry, Cole made me non-alcoholic jello shots.  :o)  BSU won the game against Georgia, no problems because we rule!

Sunday we woke up somewhat early and got ready to go camping for the night. Matt, Tina, Jessica and Jake and I went down past Anderson Ranch and Featherville to an area suggested by our friend. It was a LONG ride and we were getting a little worried we wouldn't be able to find a spot due to Labor Day weekend but we managed to find a spot. It had a great fishing area, although the fish were spawning and would not bite for us, either that or we just had the wrong kind of bate. It was fun nonetheless. I was just disappointed I didn't get any fresh fish.

Once again I was the entertainment for the trip as I decided to push wax down on a citronella candle and proceeded to have hot wax go all over my face, hair, and chest. Everyone stared in shock at me as I was in shock at the hot wax that was over me. Cole quickly jumped up and got me a towel. Fortunately it didn't burn too bad but I was a sight for sore eyes. I refused to let pictures be taken of the ordeal.

We played cards, ate smores, everyone else drank. Overall it was an awesome time until the night hit and the wind kicked up. It was very windy at night and everyone had a hard time sleeping. I'm glad we went though since it is getting colder here. It was nice to spend a day with good friends.

Overall a good labor day weekend but very busy!! I was exhausted on Monday. Cole and I came home from camping and took three hour naps. Now it is Friday and I am still looking forward to recovering from last weekend! More shenanigans to come though for this weekend. We have to get them all in before that baby comes.

Tonight is a concert that Cole wants to see, Reverend Horton Heat and Nashville Pussy along with dinner with friends.
