We may not have it all together ... but together we have it all.

I am blessed.

Today I am acutely aware of how blessed I am in my life. It is a combination of a lot of reasons.

1. Today is Marcus' 6 month 'birthday'
2. Cole and I's three year anniversary is in 3 days
3. I read this post:  http://www.kellehampton.com/2010/01/nella-cordelia-birth-story.html
about a woman who unexpectedly had a Down Syndrome baby and cried my eyes out. I can only hope
that if I am ever in the situation of this amazing woman that I will embrace my situation the same as this
woman has and be able to articulate my emotions as well. It reminded me how blessed I am how to have
this extremely happy, healthy, beautiful baby boy pictured below.

Jessica's Bachelorette Party

Our very dear friends Jake and Jessica are getting married in just a few short weeks. Both Cole and I are in the wedding. Jake got to go all out for his bachelor party and he and a bunch of the guys (including Cole) went to Vegas over Memorial Day Weekend for a big celebration. Jessica's Bachelorette Party was much tamer. I do think she had a good time though.

The night started out at the Reef for dinner and drinks. After dinner we hit the bars with stops at Dirty Little Roddy's for bull riding (she didn't make it very long), Humpin' Hannah's for an appearance on the stage with Rocci Johnson, and the Main Street Bistro for dancing.

Although it was low key the mission of getting Jessica smashed was a success. It was also a great throwback to our single lives that Jessica and I used to live back when we first met and were always out bar hopping. My how things have changed! No longer is bar hopping on our priority list and in fact, we felt old most of the night. I can't wait to celebrate the big day with her!!

Mike and Aislynn's Wedding

Mike and Aislynn's wedding was this weekend. It was beautiful and we were happy to have gotten to witness it. The setting was up at the Bogus Basin Pioneer Lodge and it was a picture perfect day with picture perfect scenery.

Cole and I took the opportunity to have another date night and so we had Marcus head over to his Nana's for  a visit. It was a perfect date night for Cole and I. Although I missed Marcus dearly, a wedding is a perfect time to be alone. It always brings me back to our special day and floods me with wonderful memories. On top of this, we danced to 'What A Wonderful World' and that brought me back to Paris last year and the floodgates opened for me. It was a wonderful night full of drinking, good food, and great company of mostly old friends but even some new ones.

4th of July

We had a great first 4th of July with baby Marcus. We continued our tradition that we have had for the past few years of floating the river and then spending the afternoon at the park BBQing and playing games until the fireworks start.
Marcus was dressed festively for the day and we went out and also bought him a new sun hat and shades for the occasion. He was one styling boy! Then we dropped him off at his Nana and Papa’s house for a visit while we floated.

It was wonderful to float and was the first time of the year since the river opened so late. We floated with Joe and Coco, Jake and Jessica, and Nate and his girlfriend. I was able to let loose for a while and drink since I had some milk stored up for Marcus.

After we floated we had Kay drive Marcus down to the park to meet us and we spent the afternoon BBQing and talking to friends. We had a few more that met up with us for the festivities. Marcus spent the afternoon laying on the grass playing and being the center of attention. He did fall asleep though before the fireworks started which is to be expected. Maybe next year he will be awake to enjoy them!

Camping Trip

We took Marcus on his first camping trip this weekend. It was tons of fun and very relaxing. Since I was very concerned about Marcus getting too cold we went to Featherville instead of too far up into the mountains. Now that I know Marcus did okay with the weather at night I will be more inclined to venture a little farther north. We went with Matt and Tina and had a fabulous time.

The trip consisted of fishing (we didn't catch any), shooting guns, napping, playing cards, drinking, and of course doting over the wee baby Marcus. Oh and pictures...tons of pictures. I had over 100 pictures when I got back and narrowed them down to around 60. Tina also took a ton of pictures. Marcus' camping trip consisted of being doted on, trying to play cards with us, napping in his pack n' play, playing with the mosquito netting on his pack n' play (he loved that and that it was hilarious), and snuggling. Bailey came along with us and wore herself out so badly by Saturday evening that she was ready to go into the tent and go to bed about 4 hours before it was even time. Sunday she wasn't so eager too get up at 6 am like she was on Saturday. We love camping with Matt and Tina, no expectations and no stress, just fun and good company.
