We had a great first 4th of July with baby
Marcus. We continued our tradition that we have had for the past few years of
floating the river and then spending the afternoon at the park BBQing and
playing games until the fireworks start.
Marcus was dressed festively for the day and we went out and
also bought him a new sun hat and shades for the occasion. He was one styling
boy! Then we dropped him off at his Nana and Papa’s house for a visit while we
floated.
It was wonderful to float and was the first time of the year
since the river opened so late. We floated with Joe and Coco, Jake and Jessica,
and Nate and his girlfriend. I was able to let loose for a while and drink
since I had some milk stored up for Marcus.
After we floated we had Kay drive Marcus down to the park to
meet us and we spent the afternoon BBQing and talking to friends. We had a few
more that met up with us for the festivities. Marcus spent the afternoon laying
on the grass playing and being the center of attention. He did fall asleep
though before the fireworks started which is to be expected. Maybe next year he
will be awake to enjoy them!
