We may not have it all together ... but together we have it all.

The Head and the Heart

Last night Cole and I went to the Head and the Heart concert(Indie Folk Rolk) and it was fabulous. This was our belated anniversary date, and it couldn't have been a better date concert. We first saw them a year or two ago at the Neurolox before they really started getting popular. Cole asked me if I wanted to go to a concert and told me 'I wouldn't be disappointed' so we went, and I wasn't. We have shared our love for the band ever since.

The thing I love about going to concerts when you know the cd is that you get to sing along. And we did, to every song we knew. I was flooded with emotion as some of the songs really hit close to home. We swayed together, kissed, and held each other through the whole concert. I haven't been filled with that much love and emotion for my husband at a concert since we went to the Ataris quite a ways back. There is just something magical about a band that we can identify with and both genuinely love. It connects the two of us on a completely different level that only music can do.

Oh and for those of you that know I am a die hard BSU fan...I didn't miss the game either. We watched the game up at the bar at the Knitting Factory while the opening acts were going on. The game perfectly aligned with the time of the concert and ended a mere minute or two before The Head and the Heart came on stage. We won the game against BYU 7-6, but yes it was a terrible game. That is okay though because the concert made up for it by leaps and bounds.

Cole's Birthday

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband! Tomorrow you turn 28 years old and you just keep getting better with age. I love you dearly and hope you have a wonderful year ahead of you. To celebrate Cole's birthday we went to the Idaho Shakespeare Festival to see Noises Off. Unfortunately the play wasn't the best we have seen there, but it was nice to have a night out. It has been quite a while since Cole and I have had a night out on our own so it was a great break. Matt, Tina, Joe, and Coco came out with us to celebrate the festivities. We feasted on Lisa Peterson's Cafe' Shakespeare picnic box and a few bottles of wine. Food and theater - it doesn't get much better than that! Most amazingly, was Marcus' babysitter. I started babysitting Kailah when she was four years old, and now she is old enough to watch my baby. In fact at the age of 19, she has been ready to babysit for quite some time. It is amazing that the little girl I took care of is now taking care of Marcus. Needless to say, it does make me feel "old." Coming up later this week... our belated anniversary date to see The Head and the Heart in concert!

From Marcus' Blog: A Picture Post

I missed out on posting a few 6 month pictures that were taken the very last week that you were 6 months. So here they are. Plus some that have been taken this last month.

You are probably wondering why I haven't written much in the way of activities in the past few weeks. The reason is two fold. The first being the air quality. Due to the fires that air quality has been so bad that we have been spending a LOT of time inside. Thus we haven't really done much in the way of family outings. The second is that football started a few weeks ago (right about the time you turned 7 months) and thus we have even more reason to stay inside because we are watching football. Rest assured, even though we aren't doing family activities, you sure are moving and shaking in the house!

You showing off your Green Bay hat. It finally fits!

Bath Time Photos

Your messy face after the peas I fed you.

BSU Game Day! The first game was on your 7 month birthday!

A 7 month photo of you sleeping away. You are so precious here...

From Marcus' Blog: Such a Tender Moment

I witnessed the sweetest, tender moment between you and your Dad today. We got home from the daycare and you saw Dad. I handed you over and you wrapped your tiny arms around his neck and squeezed him tight. You were so happy to see him. Then you let go long enough to look at his face and smile, and then it was right back to wrapping your arms around him all over again. I love moments like these and I hope I never forget them.

From Marcus' Blog: Another Camping Trip

We took you camping again. You rocked it like last time. Unfortunately due to fires being all over the state we had to go to Oregon and the camping spot wasn't that nice, but we still had fun. I didn't go as hog wild with the camera this time taking pics of you but I did still take some.

The highlight of the trip was watching you drink water out of a cup (I will post a video of this) and all of the deer that wondered around the campground.

Boise State Football and the Draft

The first Boise State football game season opener was this Friday. Cole and I decided that we wanted to do Fantasy Football this year, so Cole organized the league and we had our draft on Friday during half time of the BSU game. Unfortunately BSU lost against Michigan State 13-17 but we still sported our BSU colors (well Marcus and I did, Dad has decided he wants Marcus to be a Wisconsin Badger) and loved watching the game. The draft was also pretty fun. Cole arranged for minigames to be played like flip cup, and other completely randomized games that helped us pick our draft order. We plan to watch the games together with the twelve of us and I can't deny it, I am pretty stoked for the football season!!
