Our First Night Away From Marcus

We had our first night away from Marcus. It was hard, but it would have been hard no matter when we did it. He stayed with Kay overnight. What did we do you ask? Well, you would think that I would have slept! But no sir-ee, we went out with friends and had a night on the town.

First we had dinner at Pacific Rim Wine Stop with Jake, Jessica, Joe and Coco. If you haven't been there, let me tell you it is a fabulous dining experience both in food and wine.

After dinner we went out to Opa for a fire and ice techno night. Mike, Shari, and Jasmine met up with us. It was the first night I closed out the bars since Marcus has been born. We had a great time! But boy don't you think for a moment that I wasn't happy to see my little boy the next morning! In fact, I wasn't able to sleep past nine in the morning I was so excited to see him.

Marcus did great with Kay and they had lots of fun. I do think it was a little traumatizing though, since he cried the next time he saw her and clung to Cole's leg. Then when I took him to daycare the next time, he cried when I dropped him off too - which he never does. It took a few days was all and then he realized that we weren't going to leave him again for an extended period of time.
